Joanna Louise Scott – Andy (Bubble) Chambers better half….

Boardseeker Babe April 07: Joanna Louise Scott

Full Name:   Joanna Louise Scott
Age:   31
Height:   5ft4
Eye Colour:   blue

1. What are your best features?
My eyes, my Severne S1 4.5 and my Starboard Flare 99.

BSB: 4/5 (That is an answer we have not yet seen, but it’s a good one)

2. Where are you from? Sevenoaks, Kent. Home of the Swift brothers – can’t be that bad!

BSB: 3/5

3. What is work? I am an advanced instructor and the ‘centre pro’ for Club Vass, and I run Club Vass Divas, which is a women only clinic which takes place several times a year in Vassiliki and Dahab and soon to be coming to the UK as part of a spring tour with Bubble and Colin Dixon.

BSB: 5/5 (Love windsurfing)

4. What is your link with windsurfing? Apart from teaching at Club Vass and being sponsored by Severne and Starboard my other half is Andy ‘Bubble’ Chambers, which pretty much makes windsurfing my whole life!

BSB: 5/5 (Some good strong links there, a good sturdy link.)

5. Can you windsurf? Mainly flat water freestyle but I’m now getting in to a lot more wave sailing which I absolutely love and determined to do a lot more of. If that counts then yes I can!

BSB:5/5 (Enough said)

6. What makes a windsurfer a good boyfriend? In my case my boyfriend is obsessed with windsurfing. If he’s not actually windsurfing or staring at the sea convincing himself that the wind is picking up (‘its definitely picking up’) then his head is in his Mac watching the forecast, Continent Seven, the fabulous Boardseekermag or a windsurfing DVD. The upshot of this is that I’m certain he won’t cheat on me because a) he doesn’t have time to and b) apart from me he’s not interested in anything except windsurfing. Good lad!

BSB:5/5 (So you are telling me that being obsessed with windsurfing, not doing anything but think about windsurfing is the recipe for a good boyfriend.. good gal! )

7. What is your most memorable achievement to date?  Raising £5000 for a cancer charity by riding Grand National winning racehorse, Aldaniti, when I was eleven years old (but unfortunately not actually in the Grand National you understand!)

  8. What’s the wildest thing you have done? I used to be a sound engineer, which involves some wild stuff anyway, but it would have to be a toss up between working on a live Oasis gig (extremely rock and roll!) or working on the refit for Heaven night club and getting invited to the opening party. Nothing that happened that night is printable!

BSB: 3/5 ( Good have been a good answer, it is all printable you know… )

9. If you were President or Prime Minister for ONE day, what would you do? Make that day a national holiday and go windsurfing!

BSB:5/5 (Hear! Hear!)

10. Finally, your windsurfing boyfriend says he will be out sailing for a quick hour. He comes back 4 hours later. What do you say to him? You ask like this isn’t a common scenario! There’s no such thing as a quick hour for a serious windsurfer so I’d probably say ‘You’re back early. Has the wind dropped?’

BSB:5/5 ( Can you give 6 out of 5’s.)

Total BSB score: 88%

(Some fine quality worldly windsurfing answers…)
