Kids always aspire to be like their heroes, they want to be using exactly the same gear as them, wearing the same clothes and talking just like them, it's just fact. When Marcilio Browne became Wave World Champion last year using Goya, we think that was the moment many kids made a life long decision.

So get them used to their new World Champion sail early, that's what we say.

Coming in the almost adorable sizes of 1.2m right up to 2.8m it should cover the 6-14 year category nicely, unless your kids been chowing down on the runner beans, then you can opt straight for the older brother, the Guru.

Official Spiel

The Guru S is a super light weight dedicated performance wave sail for kids. It is very durable and delivers easy handling, just like its bigger sibling the Guru.

The Guru S works best for smaller riders under 45 kilos and does everything from flat water sailing, beginner training, full planing to first and advanced steps in waves. The Guru S works great in both light and strong winds.

Another shop deal we have sighted, the Severne Gator, like many other sails in the brands extensive range, is a cracking machine. Offering all the drive you could need from this multi-purpose freeride sail.

Official Talk:

The Gator is the perfect sail for plug and play rigging simplicity combined with lifelong durability.

The Gator is a single sail range that covers any windsurfing conditions, anywhere on the planet. From high-wind bump & jump, to 8.0 freeriding on a lake, the Gator has it covered. The core principles are durability, manoeuvrability and a consistent feel across all sizes. Every size is I00% X-Ply, and utilizes Double Seams throughout. Every size is designed to echo the demand of the aggressive freeride rider no matter what the wind conditions: PROGRESSIVE GEOMETRY

The smaller sizes feature a higher cut foot and geometry biased towards wave and high wind bump & jump.

Larger sizes have a lower cut foot to generate more drive in lighter winds but still maintain the light, throw-about feel.

Ahh and we may have mentioned it was a shop deal, check it out here.

75% carbon and 100% carbon masts have always been open to much discussion. Whilst the weight savings of the 100% mast are sometimes a little more noticeable the price tag is not always justifiable to everyone means. So 75% carbon is the next best option, however this also has it's advantages. A softer feel from the mast which has a little more flexibility can allow your sail to draft better in the gusts with a less nervous/twitchy feeling. Something that allows you to enjoy a session more, especially if you are lake bound or find yourself windsurfing at gusty spots.

Four batten sails have been extremely favourable over the past few years and one that has been very popular on the continent is that of the Sailloft Quad. A four batten masterpiece that combines early planing with easy handling.

Lighter. Colourful. Quad.

If cut-backs, bottom-turns, chachoos and culos are your oxygen then the new QUAD is designed for you. It has breath-taking control to suit its required disciplines – move like the pros.

Completely built with the new 4mill xply, the QUAD just got lighter still! Each sail size has been adapted and optimized for its intended range of use. In 2014 the QUAD offers even more control in over-powered conditions. Your trips to the waves and performance at the freestyle hot-spots world-wide just became a walk in the park.

With extensive input from our international riders; the outline, the batten profile and even the size of the mast sleeve have been re-designed. This leads to a much better duck-ability and increased lift, which is now so crucial in new-school freestyle and the more manoeuvre orientated wave riding scene.

Super soft handling combined with maximum power for early planing is what the new 4 battened QUAD stands for. It doesn’t matter if you are a hardcore wave-rider or a freestyler the QUAD will definitely push you over the next wave or into your next freestyle move.

Now this may seem a lot for a boom and certainly a lot for a Christmas present but if you are this way inclined and that special someone is a very very lucky person then a carbon boom will change their game. The real difference is that carbon is much stiffer giving the user much more response from their rig, be that more response in a top turn, as they are getting going or through some wild move. Carbon booms are a game changer and are every bit worth the cash spent.

Ok so the price tag is somewhat less than the ordinary but the reason for that is this is another of those shop deals we dug up. The boards on offer are 2014 and brand new but the bargain to be had there is almost unbeatable for such a speed machine.

Official text

The Starboard iSonic Wood new windsurfing board is for freeride and slalom use.

The iSonics are Starboard's slalom boards. They are fast racing machines designed for the highest top speeds, the highest average speeds, the quickest accelerations with powerful overtaking abilities throughout a wide wind range.

The two smallest sizes are most narrow and shaped specifically for high wind conditions. The five middle sizes are compact designs for maximum performance across a wide wind range. The two largest sizes are extra-wide designs emphasizing lightwind performance and heavier riders.

Super fast and super efficient boards, they provide the highest average speeds, the quickest acceleration and fastest jibing speeds. Some recent competitive achievements:

More and more recreational sailors are looking for that magical one board that they can take to the beach any time and in any condition to get out on the water and have fun. The 3S is the “Swiss army knife" of the windsurf world. You can freeride, bump and jump, bust out some freestyle and smack some lips on these boards and they just don’t care!

Arguably one of the best all-round boards on the market, the 3S just gets better and better. The key word to describe these boards is “EASY". The boards just do what you want them to do; you don’t have to work hard to make them turn, they know how to do it. They jump onto the plane with ease and rocket to the moon on the jumps. One board … do what you want!

“The S3 is the one board that I will always take with me on the road around the UK. The conditions can be so different from day to day but I know I can still always go for a sail on a 3S and have a great sail. Whatever style of sailing I choose to do, the 3S is there to support my demands."

I want one, I want one! Get it HERE (or make sure you forward on that link...)

There's no harm in dreaming. Perhaps for a lucky few this will become a reality. Have a great festive season everyone and keep heading back to on a daily basis for plenty more news and features.

Everything starts in the beginning. The front. The nose. On the Custom it’s narrow, just as on surfboards, allowing you to get closer into the wave and its curves. It’s a very compact board with a fast progressive rocker that keeps you driving forward at all times. Since it’s so compact we suggest you pick one size bigger than your normal choice as the new Custom feels very small, and a higher volume will allow you to go with a smaller sail, making it that much more enjoyable.

Here’s what Francisco says about the Custom: “I feel so much more connected to the whole board, it’s fast and intuitive to the point that I wonder if I even need footstraps. I have never experienced the similarities to surfing as I have with these shapes."
