Jason Polakow – It’s About Time

Jason Polakow has just released a fresh new episode of his JP Chronicles. One of the most radical guys of our time and a 2x World Champion, he is now going down a different path that reflects that of the likes of Travis Pastrana and Travis Rice. We caught up with him a few weeks ago for a quick skype date about his current plans and his new attack on the world of social media. Read our interview, watch the latest JP Chronicle on the final page and stay tuned for more input from the man himself right here on Boardseeker.com.

Boardseeker: You’ve fired up your social media impact in the past year, it’s really noticeable that you are putting some great stuff out there, can you tell us a little more about the importance of it for you and what’s perhaps in the pipeline?

I stayed with Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson, it was cool to see them again.

JP: Well yeah one of the main reasons is that now I am not really competing I wanted to be able to give back to my sponsors in other ways, in particular Red Bull who have been really good to me over the years, supporting me in projects and other things along the way. Anyway they recently picked up on me being off the radar a little, you know I’m not really a public person, I like to keep myself to myself so it was kind of hard at first to really open up. The guys at Red Bull were good though, they really gave me a good run through of what works and what they would like to see in the future and to be honest you kind of get drawn in to it a bit, to see what gets a good response and you kind of realise that you have a nice fan base and a lot of people write nice things, once in a while some bad things but usual good stuff and that kind of inspires you to keep going. I think this is more important for me now than ever before because I’m doing more of what I love and that’s chasing down big waves as often as possible and people seem to love to hear about it, so I guess the two go hand in hand.
