The rise of the selfie is truly a 21st century affair. To describe one such classic shot would entail something similar to holding up a camera and staring into the screen so as to ensure the individual has the perfect alignment of face pout and the proposed iconic background.

Well, there are no duck-faces here, these selfies are set to inspire and not to promote a celebrity who most of us are not altogether sure why he or she is famous. So thanks must go to GoPro and other similar action sports cams, but in particular to the minds behind Flymount, who let us rummage through there finest action shots to help define the meaning of selfie.
