5 Riders To Watch In Alacati

The PWA Alacati kicks off today (live stream will be right here on Boardseeker), we all know that Antoine Albeau and Karin Jaggi are currently leading the rankings, but which riders could cause an upset and challenge for the top?

Sarah-Quita Offringa – Her first PWA slalom event of the year, last year in Alacati SQ showed exceptional speed. Maybe her first few races were a little erratic, probably down to such little racing time, but once she was dialled in SQ looked unstoppable. Will she show the same speed this year?

Lena Erdil and Cagla Kubat – These two ladies and fantastic racers, and here in Turkey they have the added advantage of local knowledge. Both know these waters like the back of their hand, which usually sees them edging up the rankings and potentially getting onto the podium.

Ben van der Steen – Currently top four in the ranking for 2013, but in 2012 the dutchman managed an incredible 2nd place in Alacati. The conditions and his equipment seemed to be working perfectly together, will this be the case again this year?

Ross Williams – Another Gaastra/Tabou rider, Ross seems to have been struggling to make it into the top 10 so far this year (he missed Korea event) but last year in Alacati everything came together and he finished a more than respectable 4th place. Can he up his performance again this year?
