The AWT (American Windsurfing Tour) kicked off yesterday with a relaxed start to an event with a huge buzz around it, not least because Goya have fronted $10,000, but also for the reason that the entry list is stacked with names that you might expect on the PWA World Tour a well. Just look at it (next page), there’s the Goya crew including Francisco himself, Brawzinho (the current World Champion), Siver, Roediger, actually forget it, we will just end up writing out the whole list for you in our attempt to highlight how many top guys, and girls, are present.

DAY 1

A brief summary of the day saw most of the competitors happy to spend the time catching up and hitting the water on their SUP’s. Light winds meant registration was a relaxed affair with a BBQ full of elk and antelope burgers before the premier of ‘Girls want to get wet’, a short movie about girls in windsurfing.
