Daida Moreno and Philip Koster reign supreme, taking the event win here at PWA Tenerife. They were both pushed right down to the wire, beating Iballa Moreno and Thomas Traversa respectively in super finals.
In the men's fleet it was Fernandez who came through heat after heat, sailing an absolute blinder, until he met Thomas Traversa. After the controversy of yesterday with interference on a wave between Alex Mussolini and Adam Lewis, it happened again today this time with Victor dropping in on Traversa. This took away Victor's best wave, which gave Traversa the advantage.
Traversa then took it to Koster and sailed an exceptional first heat against the former world champion, to force a super final. Koster sailed a much more tactical and sensible second final, racking up the scores to take the win in the heat and the overall victory.
In the women's it was Sarah-Quita Offringa, the Queen of freestyle, who showed she has the skills in the waves too. SQ came all the way through in the double elimination to finish up on the podium, but she was finally stopped by Daida Moreno. Daida then went on to face the familiar all Moreno final, where this time it was Daida who finished on top.
