About the Event
I am at the IFCA Slalom Worlds on Tercera, one of the islands in the Azores (Portugal). At registration 53 competitors signed up, which will kick off today (6th May) at 1:00pm. The race area is in the Bay of Praya di Victoria and everything looks well organised and ready to go.
Freestyle: 2005 to 2011 I was ProKids World Champion in my age group.
Slalom: From 2006 to 2008 + 2010 I was IFCA Slalom World Champion in my age group. For which I had to travel to Turkey, Italy, France and Bonaire.
I trained and prepared very well in the past weeks at home and yesterday I hit the water for the first time here on the Azores with my Severne Reflex 7.0 and my Starboard Isonic 97 and 34cm Z fins.
Your Kit Set-Up
Sails: Reflex 6.2-7.0-7.8-8.6
Boards: Isonic 110 & 97
Fins: Drake 34+36+38+40+42 Z fins
Harness lines: 28cm on all booms
I can't really tell who my biggest opponent is because this is the first slalom race for me in a long time on international level due to me focusing on my freestyle career for the past 2 years, but the level is for sure high.
