One of the best wave beaches in the country hosts the second round of the UKWA Wave Tour this weekend. The forecast is not looking epic but you just never know with Rhossy as last year proved.
However, what we can rely on is Funsport\'s legendary hospitality with free lunches, dinners and evening entertainment for all competitors and this year, a special trip to Llandudno Ski Slope on the Friday night for some snowboarding and endless trips on the tobaggon run!
Funsport also has a fleet of Kona\'s and SUP\'s ready for action and no doubt this competitve group of sailors will devise some form of Kona/SUP event. Turfdog will also be there with all their latest land boards.
John Skye is already in North Wales wanting to show the delights of the Snowdonia National Park to his girlfriend, Spanish pro sailor Nayra Alonso, before the contest starts. Rumour has it that arch rivals Andy King & John Hibbard are sharing the same van on the trip up from Cornwall. The rising fuel prices must be really hurting those boys!
With Phil Horrocks and Ben Proffit back from Maui, they will be hoping for wind & waves at their local break to show the starboard tack sailors just how to jump on port. In the Ladies fleet, local sailors Louise Emery, Ruth Elliot and last year\'s winner Janine Guest will be going head to head with Tanya Saleh and Lucy Robson who are travelling from the south coast for this event.
The Amatuer fleet was super competitve in Ireland and the same group of sailors are due to enter again but hopefully we can get some of the local Rhossy sailors to show their support for the event and sign on the dotted line! It\'s all looking good - we just need that wind.
