The double elimination gives a second chance for sailors, no matter where they finished in the single, they still have the opportunity to comeback and take the victory.

Day 4 in the PWA Lanzarote saw a chance for Brawzinho to get back to the top and take the lead back from Gollito. It would be a tall order however, needing a run of 8 heats to get back on top. Unfortunately for him he met an on form Taty Frans, gifting Gollito the event lead.

On the other side of the draw, brother Tonky put on the most impressive run in the double elimination. Advancing from the bottom rung of the ladder all the way through to the top 8. Here he was beaten by Ricardo Campello, who then took over where Tonky had finished and continued the run, taking out Taty and Paskowski, before eventually losing out to Gunzlein.

From this point onwards the single round finalists showed the class that got them there and held there positions, with Kiri finishing 2nd and Gollito holding on to the win, and the event lead.

In the womens it was Japanese ripper Junko Nagoshi who put on the best run in the double elimination. Starting from the bottom she went all the way up to 4th, eventually losing to Daida. Daida therefore earnt the right to fight for the top spots, but again lost out to Laura Treboux in a tight battle. The final was again Laura vs Sara quita and again, despite a solid performance from Laura, it was Sara who edged the victory.

The overall results now read as follows:

1st Jose Estredo 2nd Kiri Thode 3rd Ricardo Campello

1st Sara-Quita 2nd Laura Treboux 3rd Daida Moreno

With 2 more day of action remaining, its far from over. So stay tuned to find out if Gollito and Sara can hold on to their leads.
