The Gorge, in the Hood River, is one of the most famous windsurfing spots in the world. The hot desert air heats up and the cool moist air of the Pacific rushes through the steep canyon walls of the Gorge to create some of the most spectacular windsurfing conditions.

The Gorge Games started back in 1994 and have become one of the most dynamic and exciting action and outdoor sport events in the Pacific Northwest in the States. The event includes Kayaking, cycling, kiteboarding, half marathon, 10k trail run, of course windsurfing and much, much more.

This year the event will be from the 17th until the 20th of July. They have events scheduled from Cascade Locks to The Dalles – on both the Washington and Oregon sides of the Columbia River. Windsurfing, you can take part in the Freestyle, Big Air or Course Race events, and there will be prizes to the top finishers in each division.

Whether you go to compete or just to party, there is something for everyone at the 2008 Gorge Games.
