If you haven\'t already been introduced, Big Salty is a weather website dedicated to windsurfers in the UK and Ireland. Here at Boardseeker we\'ve been enjoying using it for a while now and because it has just recently been re-designed it seems a good time to mention that it\'s out there and a great resource. It does everything you\'d expect from a weather website plus some. It has forecast data cleanly laid out for every beach and inland location on the database and a current swell and wind flash map on the home page to give you a rough overview of what\'s going on. The graphical forecast charts are also great for getting an overview of low pressure systems and wind directions - there is even tide data for certain locations as well. What is interesting is the rating system that factors wind direction in to the ratings. This seems like a useful method of rating conditions at individual locations according to how your beach works in a particular wind direction and would also appear to have plenty of scope for future development. It is all quite exciting as it is already an excellent service and we have been told that there are some unprecedented developments on their way. So get it added to your favourites, look out for those low pressure systems and get on the water!
