It was a long break since the first IWA Championship event in Brandon Bay. Last week it took place the second round at Keel Beach – Achill Island on the Ireland’s West coast, hosted by Gareth & Ruth from the local windsurfing Center – Windwise (www.windwise.ie)
The forecast was not very promising, but in the end, on Saturday morning, everyone was ready to get the best out of the little conditions predicted for the weekend. In tne end, there was enough wind to complete a full round of competition in cross-onshore port tack and occasional head high waves. In the Gold fleet, Oisin van G from Dublin got the edge over Finn Mullen to take the final, with Kerry event winner Morgan McGuire taking 3rd this time. So now, it all will come down to the last event of the year to decide who will be the Champion, with Oisin and Morgan joint 1st and Finn righ behind by 0,3 of a point. This final round will be held in Belmullet.
