Well it seems the rumours were true. Severne Sails have just announced the signing of 40 times world champion and windsurf legend Bjorn Dunkerbeck.

This is a massive signing for Severne who have been steadily growing their brand over the last few years. The wave team is already fully established with the likes of Scotty McKercher, Nayra Alonso and Boujmaa Guilloul, but the addition of a top racer is a huge statement towards their goals: World domination in the same way as Starboard.

Bjorn said "I am really looking forward to working closely with Ben. He is young and very motivated to make the best and fastest sails on the planet."

Both Ben Severne and Svein Rasmussen are really happy to have Bjorn on the team and are looking forward to working with the most successful windsurfer of all time and tapping into his wealth of knowledge.

So armed with new boards and new sails for 2009 we will see Bjorn rise back to the top and take out the Giant Frenchmen? We look forward to the start of the PWA racing season to find out.
