Lano Classic 2009

Its all action in the southern Hemisphere at the moment as another Legendary Classic comes to an end.

The Lancelin Ocean Classic is world renowned for being a great event, with a huge 25 kilometer downwind master blaster race, a full wave elimination plus a massive ozzie style piss up!!! Performance is judged both on and off the water.

The master blaster once again saw Pete Volwater victorious. The end of the race sees competitors running to the finish line and last year Pete took the win actually on the beach, overtaking Patrik in the sand. This year he had things a little more under control, winning on the water, but arriving at the finish just 2 seconds ahead…. Chris Lockwood was the one chasing, with Patrik in 3rd.

The waves saw youngster Jaeger Stone take victory from visiting Morrocan Boujma. Boujma has been out in OZ since december and training a lot with Jaeger, so it was fitting for the 2 to meet in the final. Ben Severne showed its not only designing sails he does well, by taking 3rd place.

The party was a lively affair like always and the whole contest was another huge success.
