The best sailors from the UK and Ireland gathered at Spillanes Pub on the Maharees to registrar for the first UKWA wave event of the season.

With such a good forecast it was no surprise that the turn out is good. John Skye, Phil Horrocks, Ben Proffitt, Jamie Hancock, James Cox join Irish sailors Oisin Van Gelderen, Mikey Clancy and the Mullen brothers (Finn & Timo).

The Amateur/Masters fleet is also strong with Scott McDowell leading the Amatuer fleet seeking revenge after his second at the Tiree Wave Classic in 08. The rivalry continues between Nigel Treacy (08 Masters Champ) and Big Davey (Tiree Wave Classic Champ) but with the Wilcox brothers and Sav back on the scene, they should be more worried about staying inside the top3!

The Ladies fleet is never that big (come on girls, we would love to see more of you) but at least the girls are here (Louise Emery, Sarah Finney and Katie McAnea) have had a good day\'s sailing at Gowlane today getting used to the conditions.

The forecast is still looking good with south-west winds and pretty decent swell. Skippers meeting is 0830 Wednesday morning with first possible start 0930.

We will keep you all posted!!
