>>What have you learned from your training in Pozo the past few days?
Alex: I haven’t learned anything, I have just trained what I knew already and getting used to the conditions. I think if you want to learn something you need to come here around 2 months before or live here. I have learned to get used to my board and how my sail reacts to the conditions but you cant really learn many new moves in just a few days. Thomas: Unfortunately I didn t learn so much...
>>What is the hardest thing about sailing in Pozo?
Alex: The wind, for sure the wind is the hardest thing here, but also they have here 1 thing that make it harder, the waves. Its so hard to get a nice clean wave and to get the right speed to jump. The sail choice is also hard because its hard to tell if its going to be 3.7 or 4.0 it always looks windier than what it it. Thomas: The hardest thing for me is that I would never sail in this place if there was not a competition..
>>Who do you think will be the hardest competitors to beat and why?
Alex: I think that the top 30 guys will be hard to beat, the conditions are super hard and every heat is hard. As we all know Victor will be the one. Thomas: Like alex said, everyone is making all the moves here, but victor is sailing really good!
>>What aspect of your sailing do you think will impress the judges and see you through the heats?
Alex: Probably the wave sailing and the tricks in the wave will be the best thing for me, I can also jump well and if I have a good heat I will be able to go through the heats. Thomas: I don t know, I just hope I will get good points!
>>What boards will you be using here in Pozo – quads, twinsers? And what sizes?
Alex: I will use my 65 liter board, that is the best for my weight and style, and as a back up board I will have a 70 liter board which turns easily and its good for jumps, they are both twinsers Thomas: I will use my 60 liter twinfin, like last year; I brought a 60 liters quad, but I can t really ride it here...
>>Any other comments? Alex: Good luck to everyone and I hope STYLE wins... Thomas: I hope we get some real conditions ! I wanna see some big jumps.
