News Headlines – Thu 15th

Well, we were ready for a few mid-year 2011 product launches today, and haven\’t been disappointed as Fanatic have already unveiled their new wave and freestyle shapes. Our bet is that the Quad might prove to be the head-turner of the bunch. Check out their Quad movie below – and there\’s plenty more where that came from at Keep an eye on too, which should be going live with new Egos, Dukes and Ices any minute soon…

NeilPryde have also snuck one out in the shape of their 2011 Atlas power / onshore 5-batten wave sail. Read all about it, or watch their movie presentation below. Pryde are also getting into something called \’QR Codes\’ offering instant mobile internet phone access to new movies and launches by way of special barcode-type devices. Very clever…

Starboard are still keeping their powder dry but we\’re expecting to see their new \’IQ\’ multi-fins within the week. Meanwhile they have a beautiful feature on Kevin Pritchard\’s photographic portfolio. KP himself has been “travelling like a madman but having the time of my life” according to his blog. Best get packing for PWA Fuerte Slalom soon then.

Out on the Canaries, Spanish Mistral rider Jonas Ceballos seems quite pleased with the World Cup footie result on Sunday. He was out in his national colours to show support, which seems to have “worked out really good, jeje.” (We guess that\’s phonetic Español!) See the riding movie on Jonas\’ blog.

And finally, if you\’ve got an hour to kill the full, unexpurgated, feature The Oxbow Watermen Movie can now be seen in all its 47-minute-long glory online at mpora. Killer hi-fi footage of Laird Hamilton, Levi Siver, Kai Lenny and Jason Polakow for absolutely nothing. Can\’t be bad…
