Yesterday lunchtime, the PWA casually added Cape Verde to the Men\'s World Tour Wave calendar, so that\'s officially scheduled for 15-23 November 2010 on Sal. The chance of some genuine cross-offshore riding is certainly causing some excitement, let\'s hope we score a firing Ponta Preta again. Like in 2007 - remember that? In case you don\'t, here\'s the PWA movie of the \'Super Session\' from the final day of that inaugural event. Classic.
But that\'s not the only down-the-line wavesailing event we\'ve got to look forward to, as La Reunion Wave Classic kicks off in less than a week. Joining four hot locals will be Zane Schweitzer, Francisco Porcella, Camille Juban, Julien Taboulet, Thomas Traversa, JB Caste, Fabrice Beaux and Britain\'s own Jamie Hancock. Should be awesome - check out www.waveclassicinvitational.com for more.
Back in Blighty, the UK\'s slalom racers are gearing up for BSA 7 in Worthing on the Saturday and Sunday of the August Bank Holiday weekend – 28-29 August. More at www.ukwindsurfing.com
Then a fortnight later it\'s Animal Windfest in Poole – fun \'master blaster\' racing, plus UKWA Freestyle courtesy of the one and only Trevor Funnell, and the Team15 South Zone inter-club championships. The Saturday night party theme this year is \'Super Heroes\', so don\'t forget the blue lycra! www.animalwindfest.co.uk
With \'2011\' stock now hitting the stores, the manufacturers\' websites are updating to include all the new toys. Most recently, NeilPryde and RRD – while Vandal Sails have launched a mobile version of their site...
We\'re happy to hear K-349 Sarah Bibby\'s foot is recovering after her recent Canaries jaunt, hopefully just in time for her forthcoming trip to Brazil. If you want to show her a bit of moral support, check out the mast-mount Pozo movie on her blog.
Still on the blogs, Mike Archer\'s been a busy boy. He\'s also fresh back Pozo, has just picked up sponsorship from Chinook, and recently took over landsurfing board company Turfdog. Still seems to have time to get some sailing at home in Felixtowe though. www.mikewindsurf.blogspot.com
And finally, there\'s been plenty of tow-in windsurfing popping up this year – first at PWA Podersdorf, then BWA Rhosneigr – but it you\'re going to do it, we say do it properly! Check out PWA Lanzarote sensation Canadian Phil Soltysiak courtesy of www.windsport.com. No messing about with jet-skis or RIBs either, that\'s a proper waterski boat he\'s cadging a lift from at an unusually calm Columbia River Gorge.
