News Headlines – Tue 21st

Very sad news today as we hear that David Tuttlebee, founder of Windsurfing 4 Cancer Research, passed away on Sunday. His W4CR legacy ensures he won\’t be forgotten though…

Today\’s movie is the official highlights from PWA Cold Hawaii, Klitmoller, Denmark. /

No sooner is Klitmoller finished than the countdown to Sylt begins – Starboard seem to fancy their chances, while Martin Ten Hoeve\’s the first rider to announce that he\’s on his way there…

Guy Cribb made a big comeback to the UK raceboard scene last weekend, beating seasoned campaigners Mark Kay and Dave Hackford around the cans at a breezy Christchurch last weekend. But we reckon Tushy / Starboard main man Dave had the last laugh as Guy chose to use the Tushingham XR Race 9.5 and Starboard Phantom 380 (Fanatic / North don\’t manufacture \’Raceboard Class\’ kit, you see…) More here.

The UKWA have opened voting for their windsurfer of the year – 2010 nominees are Robby Swift (Waves), Ross Williams (Slalom), Max Rowe (Freestyle), Steve Thorp (Speed) and Izzy Hamilton (Racing). Cast your vote here…

Maybe two more for that list in years to come, talented Canvey Island siblings and regular visitors to Brandon Bay in Ireland, Megan and Aleksy Gayda have started a blog on their regular freestyle and wavesailing sessions. Well worth checking out…

And finally, Tom Hartman and his crew have released a hilarious spoof MTV music video, Turbogrillz – Big Boys, that they\’re hoping to get featured in the Austrian Style Video Awards. Superbly done, with some decent windsurfing action too, it\’s well worth watching and the more views they get the better as the top 5 go through to Thurdsay\’s finals in Vienna.
