Down in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Formula Experience World Championships drew to a close last weekend. After 15 races Leonardo Rebello took the honours, while Gabriel Browne seemed unstoppable in the Youth Fleet. But British hopes rested on the shoulders of Xavier Ferlet (GBR-451) who oh-so-nearly became Formula Masters World Champion but was just pipped to the prize by Mathias Pinheiro. Staying in South America, as some of the world\'s top wavesailors begin to look towards Chile for their their winter training, there\'s a timely announcement that the third round of the South American Wave Champs will take place at Matanzas, 29 October to 1 November. The UK\'s speedsailors are all at Weymouth right now for Speed Week (see how that\'s gone so far on Dave White\'s site), but (judging by this forecast) Saturday could be shaping up to be a brutal conclusion to the BSA\'s 8-race series, hosted by OTC Weymouth. More here.

We all enjoyed his drumming last week, but away from the kit Kai Katchadourain has signed with Simmer Wetsuits – he\'s on message too: "I have never used a more comfortably performing wetsuit for windsurfing or surfing than the Simmer Generator..." More here.

And finally, here\'s a blast from the past and maybe a glimpse of the future – Mike Eskimo was a genuine legend of windsurfing in the \'80s and he\'s now turned his talents towards SUP.
