NeilPryde are proudly proclaiming that Philip Koster has been named \’Windsurfer of the Year 2010\’, telling us: “The public ballot chose Philip due to his successful season … This brings him legitimately the coveted blue Action Sports trophy in the category of windsurfing.” We must admit, as hard as we google it, we\’re a bit nonplussed exactly where this award comes from, and looking at the judging panel are beginning to suspect it could be German Windsurfer of the Year 2010. Let\’s head to Hawaii, and the oft-overlooked island of Oahu, for today\’s movie: French expat Pierre Garambois\’ 808 Shots for some good-vibe wave action at Diamond Head and Toes and freestyle at Kahala.
To the Atlantic isles now, where Witchcraft on Fuerteventura have taken delivery of their new Ezzy Panther 3 wave sails, and team riders Will Ward and Pieter Delaleeuw have been ripping up down-the-line La Caleta and El Hierro on them. More here.
A quick Canary Island hop, and Cutre\’s Pozo News on Gran Canaria have published a nice gallery in the shape of their Yearbook Pozo Izquierdo 2010 (part 2). Check it out.
Back in the UK and up in the north-west of England, custom board brand Moo seem to be snowed in, in fancy dress, reading upside-down. Weird…
Keeping it all-too-real out in East Anglia, Mike Archer is steadfastly refusing to let a little thing like sub-zero windchill keep him off the water. Check out his latest Waxham session at mikewindsurf.blogspot.com
Down in Devon, Tushy boys George Shillito and Jamie Gibbs are packing for their imminent South African escape – and both have opted for the versatile Starboard Evo IQ waveboard for the trip where they\’ll be putting in the last of the testing on a new Tushingham sail. Rumour has it we might be seeing a compact 4-batten design from them early next year. More here.
And finally, here\’s a clip from the third of the Tushy trio. It\’s still not quite what we\’re after but good to see some snowy action out of South Devon as Chris \’Muzza\’ Murray goes snowsupping in Red Snow aboard Tushy\’s robust inflatable Red Paddleboards.
