News Headlines – Tue 18th

Let\’s kick off today with a brand new trailer for a French feature film we\’re really looking forward to next year: Planet Blow, The Dark Lines by Sylvian Demercastel is set in 2039 Paris and follows a jaded artist / surfer looking back on his life 40 years earlier in the form of self-critical flashbacks. Moody. But on the bright side, some of the profits have been promised to the Surfrider Foundation. More at

Also as reported yesterday, we\’re stoked to hear that Irish windsurfer (and Jamie\’s fellow rising star) Mikey Clancy (IR-253) will compete in the Fuerteventura Wave Classic 8-18th Feb. Mikey, who suffered a serious ankle injury in 2009, rose to a rank of 25th in the world in his curtailed PWA rookie year. We wish him the luck of the Irish on his return to international competition. We shouldn\’t need to tell the British windsurfing populace that the forecast last weekend was looking good, so out in the West Country Boylo\’s and friends tripped it down to Gwithian. Saturday was the big day with clear(ish) skies, wind, waves and heaps of good sailors. Check out Ellie\’s pics at  – if any take your fancy, £5 will buy you an A4 print and the high-res shot. Bargain! On which note, Boylo\’s January Sale is now on with T-shirts at 33% of the RRP and heaps of other bargains. And they\’re even giving you £5 off when you spend over £50! And finally, after the recent splash Eleazor Alonso made by windsurfing El Fronton on Cran Canaria\’s north shore, he\’s now suffered the consequences of a return visit – in what he\’s calling “one of my worst days in water” Ele wiped-out on the slab and lost all his kit to the cliffs. Fortunately, the brave Spaniard made it out of the water shaken but unscathed! More at
