Looking forward now, and it\’s not long until racing and freestyle commence at PWA Mui Ne, Vietnam (in fact, registration\’s this Friday…) Severne\’s Dieter van der Eyken\’s already been there over a week, and has now been joined in training by our own Max Rowe and Phil Soltysiak amongst others. On a day New Zealand has hit the global headlines following Christchurch\’s devastating earthquake, a report on the NZ Windsurfing Slalom Nationals and IFCA Oceanic Slalom Champs has been posted to – in the men\’s fleet Dunedin\’s Gareth Wood beat James Dinnis (Taranaki) and Rowan Law (Perth) to the prize, while Annie Crombie (Christchurch) took the women\’s over Sue Bradley (Queenstown).

Talking of global headlines, as unrest ripples out through the Middle East, Egypt seems to be settling down after the uprising. But the troubles in Cairo apparently never extended onto the Sinai Peninsular, so it\’s business as usual at centres like Moonbeach. Check out centre manager Schlep\’s take on events here.
