So, yesterday\'s buzz from Maui certainly delivered and it was all eyes on Peahi where some of the world\'s best were tackling Jaws – Jimmie Hepp is the first out with some awesome shots of Jason Polakow on Facebook, plus a couple of great clips including this close call with a jet-ski.
In quite a departure from the traditional \'secrecy\' surrounding product photoshoots in previous years, NeilPryde have announced that they will be broadcasting live coverage of their 2012 shoot from 4 April – more at neilpryde.com. And in charge of the media stream will be none other than Jay Haysey of Globalshots – hence it came as no surprise to learn that no sooner was Jason back on dry land after his 9-hour session than Jay was there to ask him about the day. Check it out...
Back in the UK, hopes are high that our spring season is about to light up too. Soon. Please?!? The latest footage we\'ve seen is this chilled-out speedsailing and freestyle clip from Steve Thorp up at West Kirby entitled Kirby Spinz. More at stevethorp.co.uk
Down south, Sam Conroy sent us this clip from his local lake in Kent: "At the Pit near Hythe a couple of weeks ago we got the big South Westerly front through and it was cranking so we headed down there for some freestyle action! The \'friends\' in the video are Will (Gaastra sail) and Matt Lama (NeilPryde)... Photo is courtesy of Luke Yates at Way Ahead Photography." And a very stylish photo it is too! More at k-117.co.uk
Elsewhere on the British freestyle scene, Andy \'Bubble\' Chambers has finally populated his new site at k540.com with a great road-trip story to Elands Baii in South Africa with his beau Philly, Ben Proffitt, and fresh into South Africa from Club Dahab fellow instructor and freestyler Ric Cleworth (more from him at riccleworth.blogspot.com)
Meanwhile Club Vass teammate and PWA freestyler Max Rowe has posted his take on PWA Vietnam at maxrowe.blogspot.com, occasional PWAer and rising British star Adam Sims is off to Moonbeach in Egypt with Essex trailblazer Steve Thorne (keep up with that trip on k669.blogspot.com), while their Xpression colleague and founder Will Rogers has scored Bigbury and Daymer just recently – more at windsurfingwilly.wordpress.com (shot courtesy of Leah Bolton)
And finally, just double-checking – it\'s not 1 April yet, right? Because surfertoday.com have just published a quick guide on how to build your own sail ... out of IKEA bags, a shower curtain, double-sided sticky tape and a \'bed towel\' (whatever the hell that is!) Erm, so any Blue Peter badge winners should probably go find an adult to help out...
