News Headlines – Wed 29th

We are starting off today with a video as Red Bull Rockets have released this great movie from the recent jump contest in Pozo. Dario Ojeda won the contest with an 11m jump. John Skye is a broken man – leading until the last minute when he was pushed into fourth place by an unlucky (for him) gust…

Now it\’s time to talk a bit of crap… Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) have just setup a new Sewage Alert Service. You will be texted warnings if raw sewage is discharged at or near your beach. The service is completely free and you will get a second text telling you when the problem is likely to improve. You won\’t get any texts if there are no problems, so no news is good news! For more info and to sign up, see the SAS Website

And on a completetly opposing subject, windsurfing greats Scott Mckercher and Iballa Moreno have just been on a dream trip, cruising around Tahiti on a yacht for ten days, to find some rather incredible looking windsurfing and SUP conditions. Warning: this video might make you very jealous…

Another windsurfing great, Francisco Goya is soon to make the long trip over to the UK very shortly. He is heading to West Wittering Windsurf Club on 9th July where they will be running a barbecue and kit demo in his honour. “All of the latest Goya Boards and Sails will be there for everyone to try and the legend himself will be there too. All you have to pay for is the parking!” – Simon Bassett.

Staying on the South Coast, Allan Cross the event organiser of the National Windsurf Festival has just been interviewed by Boards Magazine. This year\’s festival is on 3rd and 4th September, for more information, check the National Windsurfing Festival website.

And finally, a little video to make you want to jump on a ferry. Yann Sorlut and Frank Berthelot have uploaded this great movie showing just how good Normandy is when we get it good in the UK!
