A Merry Christmas to you all from everyone here at Boardseeker and we hope you are looking forwards to the New Year as much as we are.
So it seems the transfers are coming in thick and fast now. Fanatic have officially launched their international team for 2012 with a few changes, mainly additions, but the biggest disturbance is Marcilio Browne leaving the ranks. The question is, who is snapping him up? More on fanatic.com. In other news, German slalom star Oliver-Tom Schliemann will be representing Point-7 in 2012. The PWA caught up with him for a quick interview – pwaworldtour.com for more. Meanwhile the young Italian racer Matteo Lachino, who finished the PWA World Tour in 30th place last year has moved to F2/Challenger Sails. If you can get over the start (which we have sneaking suspicions as to who may have helped film it, k202windsurfing.blogspot.com, not mentioning any names of course), then the action in Matteo\’s video is pretty good.
With a whole host more videos today we thought we would post the pick of the bunch next. PWA Freestyler and family man Jakub Kosmowski (from JFK Studios) is pushing to establish a ground breaking documentary series of life behind the PWA World Tour – \’Crossing the Limits\’. The plan is to capture the highs, the lows and the most deep and personal moments that are rarely seen on any windsurfing videos/webisodes to date. There will be around 12 episodes over the year, between 25-30 minutes each. First up is the fund-raising. Compared to most documentary budgets, the \’Crossing The Limits\’ team are asking for just a fraction. A project like this is a step in the right direction for what is already happening, in a massive way, in the winter-sports scene. For individuals, brands and companies alike, check out the video below and head over to indiegogo.com to find out about the different purchase packages available.
Next up is something a little different, still associated to windsurfing and maybe not everyone\’s cup of tea, but well edited. The two Swedish lads Gustav Häggström and Markus Rydberg put this clip together of themselves riding the Fanatic surfskate boards. Something to do when the wind is light.
Ok back to windsurfing. Freestylers and not so freestylers, check this out. French rider, Adrien Bosson, scoring an incredible September in Jeri, Brazil.
Now for the wave sailors (and \’stylers also). German manufactured WARK Boards have put together this round up video for 2011, showcasing their weapons (both boards and team-riders) for the coming year. Check it out below and more on wark-boards.de (in German)
From France to Germany and back to France. The final video goes to Fred Debuire, the self-confessed waterman and his short film “Ride Again“.
We do actually have another video to offer you, except this time it takes the form of a link. The Tiree Wave Classic recently featured on the BBC\’s Adventure Show. Unfortunately this can only be seen by UK residents at the moment, but it\’s worth a watch whilst it is still up on the iPlayer – www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer.
Sticking to UK shores for the moment and relating back to Fanatics press release. It looks like UK and PWA Freestyler Max Rowe (maxrowe.blogspot.com) has made the cut for 2012. We are looking forward to following how he gets on throughout the 2012 PWA World Tour.
Our final note then is just to say, keep a close eye here for our short Christmas day special. Have a great weekend and if you get out sailing be sure to send in your Christmas day photos/videos to [email protected]
