News Headlines – Wed 18th

We kicked off yesterday with a wave movie, so let’s start today with some freestyle. Belgian superstar Dieter Van der Eyken finished his year on the PWA in an amazing 8th place – check him out here, in a round up of 2011 on Continent Seven. Nice action!!

Some more transfer news today. This came out a little while back but here is the official release from Tabou confirming that UK ripper Phil Horrocks will be joining the team for 2012 to complete the Gaastra/Tabou setup. Phil seems pretty happy about it all – more over at Windsurfer International.

Club Vass are offering a great 10% off holidays to Dahab next month as part of Dahab Slalom week. The holiday includes coaching from top speedster Colin ‘Whippy’ Dixon – so the only question is; are you fast enough?!

If you do think you’re fast enough but your starts need some work, maybe you can get some tips from this great video from Ben Proffit showing his amazing start in the Lancelin Ocean Classic Marathon recently. Top stuff!

Facebook has a picture of Dutch freestyler Paul Zeper working on the new Hot Sails Maui ‘Freestyle Pro’ sail, looks nice! No doubt some more from Paul on that soon, keep an eye on his blog – a tough life but someone’s got to do it!

Another video to warm you up and get ready for the summer. Peace and Love Hawaii is the next episode in the web series Explore and Play from the Moussilmani brothers. Sylvain & Benoit explore the island, tear it up at Ho’okipa and hang with the ladies. (WARNING: French with English subtitles)

If you prefer rubber to boardshorts, and the South Coast to the North Shore – fear not. We’ve got a great forecast for the next few days in the UK, check out more at Big Salty and go shred. Feel free to send us your pictures and videos to [email protected] and we will throw up the best of the bunch in a readers pix feature, in the coming weeks.
