F2 Speed Challenge 2006

The first F2 Speed Challenge of the year took place at Solent Sailboards on 13th May. The forecast was not great but with a good turn out the wind kicked in just in time. The early leaders were Mike Coombes and Nick Scott, then Duncan Slater flew down the course to take an impressive lead.

In the Ladies, Heather Pitchford did some great runs with a top speed of 23 mph plus a spectacular dismount to upstage any World Cup star! In the event, however, it was a two man team that had travelled to the event together who stole the show. Nigel Spriggs and Tony Attfield took the honours with a speed of 30 mph.
