Morning all and welcome back to our usual service. We apologies for the ten day wait and hope you continue to enjoy the news as ever with us. Especially as we will be launching a fresh new boardseeker.com in the coming weeks. Sorry no set deadlines yet but keep your eyes peeled...
Let\'s kick off today with a couple of memorials. It was heart breaking when the news reached us on the 4th March 2012 that Vincent Mellouet had been lost to the seas whilst wave sailing off the coast of France. Well now the guys behind WindMeet have arranged for a memorial of Vincent to take place during the weekend of the 6/7/8th July. The location will be Lac Du Monteynard and there well be a whole host of activities to get you on the water where Vincent enjoyed so much of his time. There will also be a video contest with all entries being shown on the Saturday evening. Find out more and how to get involved here
Our second memorial goes to Jim Drake. A good friend of his, Tiesda You, managed to dig up this video clip of Jim\'s first ever windsurf. It was wayyyyy back in 1969, here is what Tiesda had to say about the clip - \'May 1969, Jim goes windsurfing for the very first time! It was after this session that he went back and added the daggerboard to the design\'. You can watch the clip by clicking here
Now if you are heading to the beach today or over the weekend then take a watch of this. The clip never gets boring and Gollito can still be seen landing moves that no one else has publicly made yet. Incredible stuff and no doubt there are still DVD\'s available for the full length movie - fourdimensionsmovie.com
With PWA Pozo just around the corner there is a huge amount of hype in the air as a massive weather system is about to set in. Massive winds, big waves and radical action are all guranteed and what\'s more, you can enjoy it all from the comfort of your own home. The PWA will be running a LiveStream throughout the event, Boards.co.uk will also be picking up on this LiveStream and World of Windsurf have a man on the scene for further live ticker style updates.
Talking of Pozo and World of Windsurf it looks like Omar Sanchez is on a mission, check out the cracking cover shot and click here to see more.
Another cool video, this time from Dahab. Yes another Dahab video but this contains quite a bit of footage from Kamikaze where you find some pretty good ramps and waves. Ripping it up in the clip is Vladimir Morozov, one of the Dahab Freestyle Week organisers.
Finally we wrap up this morning with a bit of a painful clip... Actually it looks really quite painful. If you are not in to your accidents or broken bones then this video comes with a pretty big warning. Although there is no blood there is certainly a visible break! Watch how the quest to beat the speed record results in the end of the 2012 season for Benjamin Verdin. We wish him a speedy recovery so that he can get back on the water soon.
