Nothing like leaving it to the last minute.

Matt Pritchard was first out on the water this morning as the waves pushed in. The conditions were quite light, but enough at the windline to get some jumping. Duncan Coombes opted to run 15 minute heats with two waves and one jump to count. The highlight of the day so far was Marcillo Brownes big air chacho. So far there are few surprises to who has advanced. The second round starts to look really interesting as the Pritchards sail together as do Xavier Huart, Levi Siver and Nik Baker.

The Brits are showing force with no fewer than 7 advancing to the second round. John Skye and Matt Pearch have a showdown with Volwater and Browne. With the form that Browne is on, this heat is tougher than you might first expect.

Robbie Swift, Kauli Seadi and Nik Baker all had byes to the second round after finishing in the top three last year. All eyes will be on the big three as they take to the water for the first time.
