Good morning all, certainly a healthy update this morning with some exciting news for the PWA World Tour in 2013. Already a few months ago we heard that Holland will host an event next year for Slalom and Freestyle, their aim is to make it a festival like event similar to that of PWA Austria. Well what\'s new is that PWA South Africa has just cropped up, an event for the wave sailors it looks like there could be an epic finale for the PWA\'s finest in 2013. The dates are already set, finally confirmation is on its way but no matter what it is pretty exciting to hear that there is a strong possibility. Kicking off the videos today we have this from Phil Soltysiak and Michael Rossmeier, the minds behind Windsurfing Into The Unknown. Now in Brazil, many of you may be saying, well I\'ve heard plenty about this spot, however, they show us around a few other locations with a mix of action and lifestyle. A nice video from the two freestylers, and with three more episodes coming up we are looking forward to them already, check out their facebook page in the meantime - windsurfingintotheunknown.com/facebook
From deep within the realms of the SWA comes this next video. A subtle shout on facebook suggested that the person to pull off the move at 12.54 should deserve to go home with the Student Windsurfing Association Wave Title this year. With their stop in Portsmouth just around the corner it gives many the chance to get some practice in. Yes, this is all unofficial of course but nothing like a bit of student humour. Check out this mega retro video.
Now on to something a little more serious, with all this speed in the news you may well be interested in what makes a race board fast. Well leading UK coach, Sam Ross caught up with Starboards head race board designer Remi Villa to find out more about what has been changed to this years iSonics and the theory behind it.
Another informative video with some decent tips comes from the Pritchard brothers. Now heavily into coaching they have realeased their top 5 wave sailing tips, here is their first followed by a link to the rest and their short clip is below:
"1. Look behind you just as much as you look in front of you!!! Yes, that is right, the wave is coming from behind you- if you can’t see it, you are gonna be in trouble. Be patient, just because you are coming in doesn’t mean there is a wave right behind you- Look for it, wait for it!" - pritchardwindsurfing.com/5-great-wavesailing-tips/
Lastly for the videos, if freestyle moves are your thing then this one spotted on zakel.ws is most certainly your thing. Maarten Van Ochten takes us throw a Maarten Van Ochten sized Shuv-it Spock - massive!
To wrap up the day there is nothing like good news, and that is exactly what we have in this update from Nayra Alonso as life begins with her new sweet baby, Lily.
