Yesterday the wind stayed away most of the day, whilst sailors did their best to chill out in the event tent. The one race that happened was full of controversy. Initially it was won by Finian Maynard, but he was one of the few who planed all the way around. Bjorn Dunkerbeck and Jimmy Diaz were amongst the many who fell into a big lull and struggled to get to, and around the mark.
To Finians open annoyance (think of snarling giant stomping around the beach throwing kit everywhere) the race was binned and re-run. The next race was re-run, and again. The pressure was pushing half the fleet over early and many of them were disqualified including Dunkerbeck, Albeau and Maynard (think even angrier giant shouting and stomping around the beach throwing kit everywhere).
Dunkerbeck has now made it near impossible for himself to come back after 3 poorish performances in the marginal wind races.
The remaining 6 sailors completed the final, Peter Bijl and Steve Allen revelling in the lighter conditions with a 1st and 2nd respectively.
Albeau now leads the rankings with Micah Buzianis in second and Finian Maynard in third.
