The windsurfing industry has decided to start coming together on some standard measurements to make it easier for the consumer! (about time...). During the \'Surf\' magazine manufacture week, the participating sail brands agreed on the standardisation of certain rig measurements. This is what Raoul of North Sails had to say about it...

"We think this is a great service to end consumers (mixing rig-parts from different brands - which reflects reality) as all booms and mast extensions will finally have the same lengths.

Also on the sails we would at least have the same method when defining luff- and boom lengths.

After the meeting I have sent out the outcome of our meeting to the whole industry to give their feedback. Since there were no complaints from the others we could agree on this standardisation."
