The mass exodus from many Northern Hemisphere shores this winter has proven to be a mixed bag of luck. Hundreds of windsurfers have been sitting waiting, sitting and waiting even more for the usually Cape Docter to arrive to surgery on time. Last year was epic, sadly this year has not been. Whilst they have been away Europe has been enjoying some of the mildest and windiest conditions for a long time.

But just recently there were signs of Sunsets in Cape Town showing some of its usual magic. Ben Proffit was one of the few to venture out yesterday and wobble through some heavy mast high sets, just to get a taste of what they have been waiting so long for. These are some of the shots...
