Ross Williams reports from the first stop of the PWA World Tour. Another day of light winds saw the final of the first round completed, losers final up tomorrow with better wind forecast.
I had to dip the start line to avoid going over early, unfortunately for me the rest of the fleet timed it perfectly

“Just back from the beach and unfortunately I lost my quarter final. I missed timed my run and I had to dip the start line to avoid going over early, unfortunately for me the rest of the fleet timed it perfectly and so despite my best efforts I couldn’t reach 4th spot to advance.
The one advantage is that I got to watch the start of the final from the beach, Alberto Menegatti looked to be pretty in control from the start, Antoine Albeau didn’t look to get a clear start and the light winds for sure made it harder for the big guy to fight back.
Cyril Moussilmani sailed a good race and got away second from the pack at the first mark and from there he continued to look solid for 2nd place.
Unfortunately the wind died for the losers final so that will be the first heat up in the morning. Early start at 7.30am.”
