The Breakdown – Tues 1st – Strange, Tonky flying, young talent and more…

A long weekend for us but we are back with our usual update of crazy, wild and awesome action from the windsurfing world and beyond.

First in our line up is something a little ‘Strange’. Actually it is only in the name as Fiona Wylde releases her new webclip. Over to her to describe a bit more about the video: “Strange- That is what this summer has been. Type 1 Diabetes was not on my 2015 summer schedule, but sometimes plans change and you have to change with them. So instead of heading back to Europe for more competitions, I stayed at home in Hood River, Oregon to get this thing called Diabetes under control. After the first couple weeks, summer started looking at lot more fun. I got to have an amazing summer filled with, yes you guessed it, my very strange best friends, but I love them! Even between every insulin shot, and every finger prick, this summer has been a big one to remember with such happy memories. Thanks to my friends who have picked me up when I’m down and have shared time on the water! Many thanks and much love!”

Heading to events and the final video from the epic EFPT stage in Lanzarote is here. Quite a cool edit with plenty of creativity, it’s kind of clear to see why this took a while to come out.

Filip Rogelj is up next and perhaps one we may see on the EFPT very soon. He made his way to Karpathos during this summer and scored plenty of wind, and what looks like quite a lot of time at fairly empty spots. Word on the pro scene is that this is becoming one of the next freestyle proving grounds so we expect to see more action from here soon.

To wrap up, here is a totally awesome shot of Jason Polakow shredding up Jaws. Which also inspired us for one of our recent features: 5 all time XXL waves at Jaws.
